I have been churning out some Clean and Simple one-layer Christmas cards for my last minute cards. I do have the punched border at the bottom so maybe it's not 100% one-layer so I guess you could call it 99%. I was going to enter it in a one-layer card challenge but then thought it might not qualify so I didn't - and didn't add one-layer card to my Keywords for that same reason. Anyway, I will let you be the judge.......and if you think it qualifies, leave me a comment, I will edit my upload to add the relevant Keywords.
The sentiment/image is from Stamp-It Australia called "The Angel Said" and was stamped with Versamark Watermark ink and heat-embossed it with Stamp-It Queens Gold embossing powder.
The dry embossing is a border folder from the Sizzix Textured Impressions Christmas Set #6 which I ran through my Big Shot. I love how the embossing just seemed to tie in so beautifully with the Fancy Letter "A" on the sentiment.
There is a Scor-Pal line above and below the embossing and below the gold cord. The gold cord is wrapped twice around the card. I added some Fray Stop to the ends of the cord so they wouldn't keep unravelling as this cord tends to do.
The bottom gold border was made with a Martha Stewart Arch Lattice edge punch (LOVE this for Christmas cards) and was punched out of gold glitter cardstock - which the punch didn't like too much as the cardstock is a bit thicker than regular cardstock.
I have made a silver and purple version of this card which I will upload soon.

Beautiful and very elegant card! I think it could pass as a one layer card, but I'm not the expert. You need to ask LateBlossom or Jennifer Styles - they post one layer challenges on their blogs.

This card is drop-dead gorgeous!!!!! I suppose by strict definition it's not one layer (at least by the terms described in the OLW challenge Jennifer and I put out). HOWEVER, and please don't tell anyone this, I've never been a stickler for rules. I love this card and would be happy and proud to have it on my sidebar!

What a lovely and elegant card.....the simplicity of the design is just right with the EF's and it really allows the sentiment and all it means to stand out, a truly lovely Christmas card that captures the meaning. Merry Christmas to you.
